Joshua Wemegah is an Environmental and Social Safeguards Specialist with the African Development Bank. He provides technical leadership and oversight on environmental and social due diligence, safeguards compliance and risk management for development operations across West Africa.
His experience covers project categorisation, review and clearance of environmental and social instruments, field monitoring, stakeholder engagement, grievance response, institutional capacity building and safeguards implementation.
Before joining the Bank, Joshua coordinated multidisciplinary consulting teams and supported projects across energy, agriculture, transport, aviation, construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, mining and urban infrastructure.

Joshua provides end-to-end E&S advisory across project identification, preparation, appraisal, implementation and completion. His responsibilities include risk categorisation, review of safeguards instruments, due diligence on procurement documents, field missions, audit review, complaint response and collaboration with project sponsors, co-financiers and external advisors.
